I have exciting news! My e-book Prophecy of Three is now out in the world for your viewing pleasure! You can find it on Amazon at the link provided below. It is enrolled in Kindle Unlimited so if you are a subscriber there you can even read it for free. You can also read the first 10% (about 25 pages) for free with the look inside feature.
For those of you that like the feel and smell of a real book, there will be a paperback coming in about a week. Those take a bit longer to format and I want to see the proof to make sure it’s beautiful before it heads out into the world. Thank you so much for your understanding and patience.
I have one small favor to ask. If you read Prophecy and love it would you mind leaving an Amazon review? These are all important for authors just starting out, like me as they increase the visibility of novels on the huge search engine that is Amazon. I’d really appreciate it.
I’ve recently been writing my acknowledgments page for the back of Prophecy of Three. About a page in I realized I would never be able to name everyone that I felt I should. For that I am eternally grateful. Not all authors have the same supportive bunch of family, friends, and readers that I have. I am immeasurably lucky to know all of you, and have your support. Thank you.
Things are really rolling along on my end. I am a little over two months out from publication which means editing like mad, and loads of administrative duties, such as writing a synopsis for online retailers, learning how best to market/price, and setting up author profiles on various sites. You can follow me on Goodreads as well as Facebook now. Just search Ashley McLeo to add Prophecy of Three to your “want to read” list. There’s so much to learn in the publishing world it’s crazy!
On a more personal note, I’m also currently enrolled in a 200 hour yoga teacher training program. It keeps me practicing yoga when I’d probably be holed up typing away and is a constant source of wellness inspiration. So far I can only teach sun salutations effectively, but the course goes until November so don’t worry I’ll actually know some legit stuff by the end! This course has also helped me flesh out and give depth to one of my favorite characters in Prophecy. I wonder if you’ll guess who it is?
Anyhow, I just wanted to drop you all a line, let you know what’s up, and that I’m thankful for you.
Things are getting really exciting in these parts. I’ve finally set Prophecy of Three’s launch date for June 17, 2017, just a few days before the auspicious day of summer solstice. I’ve recently received edits from my editor and great feedback from a few author friends. You could say the stars are aligning rather well for all of us in the Starseed Universe. 🙂 I can’t wait to share more with you all but for now, I thought I’d leave you with a little teaser because I’m ornery like that. Enjoy!
Excerpt from Prophecy of Three by Ashley McLeo
The knots in Hypatia’s back wound tighter, as memories of black smoke and lost knowledge flooded her mind.
Fire, an element she had little control over despite her many magical talents, had always terrified her. Still she had braved an inferno to keep her promise. Had there been any other option she would have taken it, but none came to her as the first wisps of smoke teased their way through the city, tickling the noses and stinging the eyes of onlookers.
The library was burning. Thousands of treasures flying toward the heavens reincarnated as ash and ember. Original works of Sophocles, Homer, and Euripides gone, and yet, Hypatia cared for only one—the one entrusted to her, passed down through the centuries from woman to woman, witch to witch. She’d read it hundreds of times, reciting every word and enunciating every syllable with care should such a disaster ever occur. The true secret of secrets, and future of man.
I’m pleased to be the bearer of exciting news today. Prophecy of Three has a cover! Thank you to all that voted for their favorites and not so favorites. Your input was valued and helped me decide what would resonate with the most people. This was not an easy decision, no matter what people say most do choose a book by its cover, but I am over the moon with the design and the designer I chose to work with. If you ever need a book cover I have a man you should talk to. 🙂
